Hello All,
My name is Ms. Pisney. I am originally from a small town near the Iowa-Minnesota border called Lime Springs, IA. I obtained my Bachelors of Art in Art Education from Upper Iowa University, where I graduated with honors. During my time at Upper Iowa I was active in the education club, was lead teacher in the UIU Saturday Art Program, and assisted with the Northeast Iowa Art Show, which UIU hosts. I graduated high school from Crestwood High School in Cresco, Iowa (about 50 miles from West Union.) I have three brothers and three sisters. I am the third oldest child in my family. I have a seven-year old son, Liam Michael. I currently live in Protivin, Iowa on a turkey farm. Some hobbies of mine are painting, pottery, photography, swimming, kayaking, agate hunting, rollerskating, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. I am a practicing artist. I am particularly fond of oil paints, but love any medium of painting. The subjects of my paintings are mainly female figures, abstractions, and flowers. Within my paintings, I experiment with color in order to convey meaning and depth. Overall, I would consider myself a conceptual artist, or, to put it in simpler terms, I convey meaning through my artwork. My art philosophy
Art is one of the boldest forms of expression. It is the only form of expression in which you can actually change the world around you. Geese can be turned into swans, sorrow can be turned into joy, weeds can be turned into flowers. In art, you are not constrained to what is seen, but given an opportunity to create what you wish to see. "Being gifted doesn't mean you've been given something. It means, you have something to give." - Iain Thomas, I Wrote This For You. |
